Uranus is Coming for You, Gemini!

Surprise! I’m back to blogging again! After a long hiatus of being unsure of what to do with my business, I’ve decided to let it continue to breathe and grow naturally rather than forcing it along as I had been over the last several years. Turns out I do genuinely love astrology and want to talk about it, even if it is a little scary putting out my own thoughts on these matters, but hey, you don’t learn and grow without stumbling a bit, so I’m going to keep at it. Also, it felt like it was a very fitting time to do this because of my own personal relationship with Uranus and Gemini. Anyway, enough of my rambling. Below is the original article I wrote and this is just an interjection I wanted to add as an update for anyone interested in my own journey. Enjoy!

Lately I feel like all I’ve been seeing on astrology socials is about Uranus’ ingress into Gemini on April 25th. A breath of fresh air compared to Uranus in Taurus, and all things technology moving and accelerating at lightening speed, or so everyone says. Gemini, the Mercurial sign of quick wit and curiosity bends what we know to be true as new information emerges, and who better to usher in “new” than the planet of disruption and innovation, Uranus. The planet’s 7 year long traverse through fixed Taurus was a slough for many, as Taurus likes predictable, steady, and comfortable, hence many people’s excitement about this shift.

Reflecting on my own experience with Uranus in Taurus (my 5th house), I would have to agree that the planet delivered on its promises of change. Uranus began its journey through Taurus on May 15, 2018. With the 5th house representing children, inner child, self-expression, pleasure, and romance, there was a lot I had to come to terms with during this time. I think the most obvious shift in my life was becoming a mother, birthing 2 beautiful children who have brough so much joy to my life. Prior to that, I got married during that timeframe as well! Confusing how that relates? Well, Venus sits in my 7th house, and truthfully, these past 7 years have been a fascinating and revealing look at how I related to partnerships, showing up authentically in relationship, and being honest about my desires. Outside of that, I began my own inner journey to reconnecting with my inner child during this time, revisited what creativity meant to me, and discovered my love of baking bread (my natal Ceres is here!). It hasn’t been all sunshine and sourdoughs though.

Though it’s foolish to say that only one planet was responsible for the hardships during this time (I was also going through a Saturn return and Pluto completing its cycle through my first house), my experience with Uranus has been one in which masks or conditioned beliefs were chipped away. I’m thankful for a trine to my Ascendent/first house, as it definitely continued to urge me to be more authentic. The editing and filtering of my thoughts and words became painfully obvious, and it required taking a good hard look at why this was the case. Some people consider Uranus a benefic, and sure, it can bring some good surprises, but if you refuse to move as quick as this planet can bring in change, it can feel an awful lot like a malefic. I sometimes liken it to a lesser Pluto because of this. There was a lot to process on my end, and I am thankful to have had support from my therapist during some of this time. I’m also thankful the efforts from this time period led to a more honest and stronger relationship with my husband, who was also there as a support for some of these times.

These last few months of Uranus in Taurus has been a nice little respite for myself despite everything going on in the world, but I feel the urgency of Uranus building as it inched closer into my quick-moving Mercury/Jupiter/Sun sign. We had Uranus briefly visit Gemini late last year, making its way up to 1°28’ before retrograding back into Taurus, spanning from July 8th-November 8th 2025. During that time in the US, we had a number of major headlines, including the government shutdown over air traffic control funding and subsequent airline travel disruptions, the Trump-Musk online quarrel, the conviction of Sean Combs for prostitution transportation charges, goverment cuts to food stamps funding, and additional tariff hikes.

As we look forward to the finality of Uranus in Taurus, the ingress of the side-spinning planet into Gemini (April 25th, 2026 at 8:50pm EDT) leaves a lot to speculate on what we as a collective can expect. Realistically, I don’t think anyone can say for certain what Uranus will usher in because Uranus likes a good shock factor, but based on what we know about what Gemini governs and current state of affairs there’s potential for many different things. Some shifts I’m putting on my bingo card though are:

1) Major shifts in how we learn - education in general has been changing already with the advent of AI taught lessons in schools and increased popularity of alternative schools (homeschooling, nature school, unschooling, etc.), but this next 7 year period will accelerate this even more. Increased focus on honoring the individual rather than a prescribed standard program of study may be the norm come May 2033.

2) Increased reliance on local goods and businesses, increased number of co-operative business structures - Gemini rules commerce and small businesses, and with increased threats of tariffs and public disatisfaction with the greed of giant conglomerates, we may see more people to take it upon themselves to shift to supporting local community run businesses. Company buyouts to be employee owned instead of singular or small group ownership may also take off as well. 3) The demise of highly curated influencer dominated online media with a shift to focus on the information itself. Honestly, I would be happy about this because I KNOW people are exhausted with trying so hard for the algorithm…

4) Movement on convictions for the Epstein files (finally) and social media giants - Uranus as a co-ruler of Aquarius along with Saturn, social justice may finally come for the wrongdoings of those who have hid behind deceit and lies, particularly as Saturn moves into Gemini in 2030. Pluto in Aquarius helps with this as well.

5) Changes in how people travel - with oil prices increasing and airlines under fire for corporation benefiting decisions, train travel could see a revival and maybe we’ll even see Maglev trains in the US?? Increased use of electric cars and alternative fuel sources, perhaps even innovation in airline travel itself as well.

6) The dark side of AI coming to light - we’ve already started to see some of it come up in news channels (resource consumption, reduction of labor force, AI clones and fake videos), but perhaps we’ll actually start seeing greater pushback against the proliferation of “AI Slop” and damages seen from this technology.

7) Shifts in how people communicate and connect with each other in general - I think this is a broader Pluto in Aquarius theme but since it is roped into this transit by rulership, the need for real connections and community will become even more painfully obvious. New ways of connecting with others or builiding community. The proliferation of smaller self-contained communities instead of massive suburban sprawl may become popularized if not standard for new communities. Additionally, glitches in technologies may become more commonplace…especially if you have your Mercury in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces.

8) Nervous system regulation becoming the norm. No longer woo-woo, but actually essential to people’s wellbeing. Gemini rules the nervous system, and with Uranus coming in like a surge of electricity, people will either thrive though use of regulation tools to move through this quick moving energy, or become completely overwhelmed and paralyzed. (Shameless plug - did you know I offer breathwork sessions? It has been my go-to for managing anxiety and overwhelm.)

I for one am hoping we see less division as more information is brought forth and changes in people’s thinking occur. I’ve always considered the ideology of “I know better now, so I’m going to do better” as very Gemini-coded. Open-mindedness and curiosity will be what gets us through some of the greatest challenges and innovation cannot thrive without someone asking, “what if?”

So what does this mean for you? Where ever you have Gemini placed, expect the unexpected, and expect acceleration in these areas of your life, particularly if you have any planetary placements. This may not always be good or easy, depending on how receptive you are to change. Other mutable placements (Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces) may experience more of the jarring shake ups that Uranus can cause because of the square and opposition aspects made to those signs. Other Air signs (Libra and Aquarius) may see greater shifts with the beneficial trine aspect.

Perhaps I’ll come back another day to add in some additional information about each rising sign’s experience with this transit but given I’ve already missed the publishing of this before the ingress, I’ll leave it at what I have.

If you have any questions, feel free to drop them below. And if you’d like to get specific info about how this will personally impact you, I’m offering written reports!! Just select the mini natal chart reading and specify that you want to know more about Uranus in your own chart!

With love and lots of excitement for what’s ahead,
